The shell is generally made of polycarbonate PC, ABS, PC/ABS as the main material, and a layer of soft TPE is coated on the periphery of the shell to play the role of anti-skid and enhancing grip.
The general hardness of soft rubber TPE of encapsulated PC is 65~70 degrees (ShoreA, the same below), the appearance is natural color particles, and the secondary injection temperature of encapsulated PC is 190 ~ 220 degrees. The specific adjustment shall be made according to the formula of soft rubber TPE, mold design and processing equipment.
The casing TPE coated PC is a small contact bread adhesive, which requires extremely high adhesion of TPE to PC. Soft rubber can be used to produce various mobile phone protective covers and mobile phone jackets (mobile phone shells).
The outer casing is usually made of a soft rubber material, and the protective sleeve is sleeved on the back of the hand casing to play a role in damping and preventing the mobile phone from breaking. The requirements for the soft rubber material for the shell coating are that the soft rubber must have good elasticity, strong deformation recovery, good scratch resistance on the surface, and good ultraviolet resistance and aging resistance. Soft rubber used for mobile phone protection usually has a hardness of 80-100 degrees.
Common soft adhesives include thermoplastic polyurethane TPU and TPE (based on SEBS substrate). TPU is characterized by high transparency, strong elasticity and deformation recovery. But it feels a little stiff. TPE is generally transparent, slightly less elastic, and its deformation recovery is not as good as TPU, but TPE feels smoother and better than TPU.
